The full marathon starts on the beach in Katwijk aan Zee. The 13 km and the half marathon start in Noordwijk aan Zee. All distances finish at Vuurtorenplein / Zeereep in Noordwijk aan Zee. The course runs for roughly one third over the beach, one third through dunes and one third through forest. The marathon can also be run as a relay in teams of 2 or 4 runners, with exchanges only at three major aid stations. Routes are marked and traffic free. A walking alternative called Coast Walk offers three walking distances through the same national park. The 2026 edition has a review score of 9.1 out of 10 based on 68 reviews.
