Close the Loop 5K 2026
The ninth annual Close the Loop 5K takes place on October 16, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at 1000 Bagby St. The event is presented as both an in-person and a virtual run/walk and is scheduled as a morning activity.
The event is dedicated to raising awareness about breast reconstruction options available to women after mastectomy. It supports the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign of The Plastic Surgery Foundation. Profits are awarded to organizations focused on awareness and assistance for women affected by breast cancer and to research efforts. The Plastic Surgery Foundation's BRA Program has allocated more than 200 grants totaling over $2 million in awards.
Registration opens May 20, 2026 and closes August 11, 2026. The standard registration fee is $75. Participants may register as individuals, join an existing team with no team size limit, or register as a team captain and start a team. Most registration options include a race t-shirt and a participation medal; one registration option is offered specifically without a t-shirt or medal.
