Breast Reconstruction Awareness Close the Loop 5K 2026
The Breast Reconstruction Awareness Close the Loop 5K takes place on October 16, 2026, at Buffalo Bayou Park in Houston, Texas. The event is the ninth annual edition and is offered both in-person and as a virtual 5K. It is intended to raise awareness about breast reconstruction options available to women after mastectomy and to support related charitable care and research.
Registration opens on May 20, 2026, and closes on August 11, 2026. The standard registration fee is $75. Most registrations include a race t-shirt and a participation medal; a specific registration option is offered without a t-shirt or medal. Participants may register as individuals, join an existing team with no team-size limit, or register as a team captain and start a team.
The event brings together plastic surgeons, patients, office staff, and other supporters from multiple locations. Profits from the event are awarded to organizations focused on awareness and assistance efforts for women affected by breast cancer or pursuing breast reconstructive surgery. The Breast Reconstruction Awareness Program administered by The Plastic Surgery Foundation has allocated more than 200 grants totaling over $2 million in awards. A referral reward is available: when five people register using a participant’s referral code, that participant receives a $40 refund.
