Event Overview
The Close the Loop 5K is the eighth annual event. It is a morning run/walk held in Houston, Texas, during the PSTM26 conference. Participants gather to raise awareness and funds for breast reconstruction, charitable care, and research. Profits support organizations focused on awareness and assistance for women fighting breast cancer or pursuing reconstructive surgery. The Plastic Surgery Foundation's Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) campaign runs the event, and it has allocated over $2 million in grants.
Event Format
The event is a 5K run/walk. It is treated as a fun run, and there are no street closures. Participants will be required to wait for traffic lights to cross an intersection on the course. There is also a virtual 5K option.
Registration and Participation
Registration opens on May 20, 2026. The registration fee for the in-person run/walk is $75. Participants can register as individuals or join a team. The event offers a referral program where registrants can earn a refund if five people register using their unique code. There is an option to register without receiving a t-shirt or medal.
