Clarke's Beach Sprint Triathlon & More 2026
The event takes place in Clarke's Beach Park, near St. John's, on August 23. Transition is located beside the pond. Both the bike and run courses are completely closed to vehicle traffic.
The Sprint race is a World Championship qualifying event for the 2027 Sprint finals in Hamburg, Germany. For each age group, the highest-placing male and female finisher who has completed an EOI form will earn a spot to represent Canada.
Competition categories and minimum ages:
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run : Age 16+
- Try-a-Tri: 285 m swim, 8 km bike, 3.5 km run : Age 14+
- Duathlon: 1.35 km run, 20 km bike, 5 km run : Age 16+
- Aquathlon: 750 m swim, 5 km run : Age 16+
- Aquabike: 750 m swim, 20 km bike : Age 16+
- Relay: sprint course for 2 or 3 people : Age 12+
- Mad Moto for Youth: 150 m swim, 2.5 km bike, 1 km run : Age 10-15
Course details include a single clockwise boomerang swim loop of 750 m, a two-loop out-and-back bike course (one loop for Try-a-Tri), and an out-and-back run course with specified loops on Park Road, Hill, Shaw, Wood Path, Glam, and Meadow.
