CJS Memorial 5K
The CJS Memorial 5K, also known as Viva La Mama 5k, is a running event held in Edinburg, Texas. The race is organized to support a scholarship fund and to raise awareness about domestic abuse. The physical event takes place at Edinburg Municipal Park, located at 714 S Raul Longoria Rd.
Participants can choose between two primary participation options:
- 5K (3.1 miles) running race
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles) race
The event features a competitive element with age group awards for both male and female participants. Awards are categorized into several brackets, including 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Race results are tracked live and are posted shortly after participants finish the course.
Registration for the physical event is set at a lower fee than the virtual alternative. The virtual option allows participants to complete the distance remotely while still supporting the cause.
