Chilly Willy 5K/10K/Half-Marathon - Atlanta
The Chilly Willy event in Sugar Hill offers three road race distances on the Sugar Hill Greenway and nearby roads. The event is winter themed and includes themed swag and a finisher medal for every participant. Overall and age-group awards are presented for each distance in five-year categories beginning with 10 and under.
All races use chip timing at the start and finish to produce net times. The course runs down Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, passes through E.E. Robinson, and returns to the start area. The half marathon is a double loop, and the 5K and 10K use different turnaround points. Water stations are self-serve and placed at approximately every 1.5 miles. The longest distance has a pacing requirement of 16 minutes per mile to finish before course closure.
Important event logistics include an early packet pickup at Sugar Hill Distillery and a registration deadline to guarantee shirt size on December 31. A virtual race option is available that allows participants to run at a location of their choice, submit results online, and be eligible for awards and event apparel.
