Chester 4th of July Fun Run
The Chester 4th of July Fun Run is the Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 45th annual one mile run/walk in Chester, California. The 1 mile route begins on the Collins Pine lawn at 500 Main Street and proceeds down historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House at 1 Main Street.
Participants receive a commemorative T-shirt for the first 400 registrants and refreshments are available at the finish area. The event takes place alongside other town activities including a 4th of July Craft Fair at Chester Park and a 4th of July Parade on Main Street; the Craft Fair is sponsored by the Chester Elks and the Parade is sponsored by the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Fun Run is open to participants of all ages and abilities. It serves as the ARPD’s largest fundraising event and proceeds benefit District programs, events, and capital improvement projects with an emphasis on recreation, parks and trails. The organizer lists a registration fee of $25.00. Spectators are welcome and organizers suggest festive attire such as costumes or 4th of July colors for those who wish to participate in the holiday atmosphere.
