2026 CHES 5K and Fun Run

The CHES 5K and Fun Run is a community event organized by the Cayuga Heights Elementary School PTA in Ithaca, New York. The event takes place on the streets of Cayuga Heights and serves as a fundraiser to support educational programs, classroom resources, and after-school initiatives. The event is open to participants of all ages and experience levels.

The event features two different courses:

5K - A race through local streets that is a USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event.
Fun Run - A shorter, non-timed course designed specifically for children in grades K-3.

The organizers provide race timing and registration support in cooperation with the Finger Lakes Runners Club. Participants have the option to register online starting in mid-March or via paper forms. Registration fees are structured for individuals and families, with higher rates for those registering on the day of the event. To ensure accessibility, full scholarships are available for participants.

T-shirts featuring student-designed artwork are available for purchase. Sizes range from youth to adult 4XL. These can be ordered during race registration or separately by non-runners through the PTA website.
