Event overview
Chase the Shadow is a free, untimed fun run/walk/roll held on May 3, 2026, at West Swinney Park in Fort Wayne, IN (2100 W Jefferson Blvd, 46808). The event is open to participants of all fitness levels. The format requires participants to complete a 5k route before an element called "The Shadow."
Format and logistics
Participants follow a bicycle lead along a route that uses the Fort Wayne Trails network. The route will be clearly marked, but there will be no police presence; participants must follow traffic laws at road crossings. Fun trophies are awarded to the first place male and female finishers and to the first place boy and girl (under 13). Although the event is untimed, a race clock will be on site for those who wish to see their time. Organizers encourage participants to wear black clothing for the event.
