Chase the Shadow Free Fun Run
Chase the Shadow is a free, untimed fun run, walk, and roll held in Fort Wayne on May 3, 2026. The event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels and uses a looped 5k route that follows sections of the Fort Wayne Trails network. The route will be clearly marked and participants follow a bicycle lead.
There will be no police presence along the course, so participants must follow traffic laws at road crossings. Fun trophies will be awarded to first place male and female finishers and to the first place boy and girl finishers under 13. Organizers will provide a race clock on site for those who wish to view their time, but the event is officially untimed.
The event encourages participants to wear black clothing, such as a ninja suit, a tuxedo T-shirt, or a plain black T-shirt. Participants may record their activity with a smartphone or fitness wearable and may share their activity on social media.
