Chase the Shadow Free Fun Run
Chase the Shadow is a free, untimed fun run, walk, and roll held on 05/02/2027 in West Swinney Park, Fort Wayne, IN. The single course distance is 3.1 Miles and the route starts and finishes in West Swinney Park.
Participants follow a bicycle lead along a course that uses the Fort Wayne Trails network, moves through the park, and continues onto the sidewalks of Historic West Central Fort Wayne. The route will be clearly marked. There will be no police presence at crossings, so participants must follow traffic laws at road intersections.
The event is open to all ages and athletic abilities. Organizers encourage wearing black clothing, for example a ninja suit, a tuxedo style T shirt, or a plain black T shirt. Although the event is untimed, a race clock will be on site for anyone who wishes to see a time. Fun trophies are planned for first place male and female finishers and for the first place boy and girl under 13.
The event includes a food drive collecting non perishable kitchen items to help local families in need. Donations can be dropped off at check in on race day. Requested items include canned goods, pasta and rice, cereal and oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly, canned proteins, and shelf stable milk and juice.
