Event overview
The Chapel Tri Aquathlon takes place on 9 May 2026 at Hamble Sports Complex, Satchell Lane, Hamble, Southampton. The event is organised by Chapel Junior Triathlon Club and is a British Triathlon sanctioned race. It forms part of the South Central Junior Triathlon Series and can support selection to the Inter Regional Championships. The entry fee is £24 for all categories. Entries close at midnight on 3nd May 2026. A British Triathlon "Race Pass" is compulsory unless the entrant is a British Triathlon member.
Format, timing and categories
The race uses a pool-based swim, with transition immediately outside the pool entrance in a sept and safe car park area. The run includes a short link to a main lap on the school playing field. All parts of the event are within 100 m of the finish. The event will be fully chip timed and organisers plan to count swim and run laps; competitors are still responsible for counting their own laps. Distances follow British Triathlon recommendations. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal and on-site refreshments are planned. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Tristarts (age 7-8) - 60m swim, 600m run
- T1 (age 9-10) - 160m swim, 1.2km run
- T2 (age 11-12) - 200m swim, 1.8km run
- T3 (age 13-14) - 300m swim, 2.4km run
- Youth (age 15-16) - 400m swim, 3.6km run
- Junior (age 17-18) - 400m swim, 4.2km run
