2nd Chance Run - Houston
The 2nd Chance Run in Houston is organized by LifeGift and takes place at Willow Waterhole Greenway, 5300 Dryad Dr, Houston, TX 77035, on September 19, 2026. The event honors organ, eye, and tissue donors across 109 Texas counties and aims to raise awareness about donation and transplantation. A fundraising campaign for the event lists a goal of $20,000 with $1,043.39 raised so far.

All registrations include a custom event t-shirt and a custom 2nd Chance Run medal. In-person 5K registrations also include a race bib, timing chip, and a race swag bag, plus entry to the race village. Virtual registrations include t-shirt and shipping.
Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before at a LifeGift location in Houston. Donor remembrance yard signs are available at no charge; participants can decorate signs and display them along the course. Course maps and online route files are provided for reference.
The event features a race village, awards ceremonies, team participation with a team discount (teams of five or more in-person members receive a $2.00 refund per member; youth members are excluded), and volunteer roles such as water station support, registration, course guides, and medal distribution.
