2026 2nd Chance Run - Houston
The 2nd Chance Run in Houston is organized by LifeGift and takes place at Willow Waterhole, 5300 Dryad Dr, Houston, TX 77035, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The event is offered both in person and virtually and includes multiple distance options.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K in person
- 1 mile in person
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 1 mile
Registrations include a custom event T-shirt, a custom 2nd Chance Run medal, and a race swag bag. 5K participants also receive a race bib and timing chip. Registered participants gain access to the Race Village. Donor Remembrance Yard Signs are available at no charge; blank signs can be decorated and placed along the course.
The run honors organ, eye, and tissue donors across 109 Texas counties and aims to raise awareness of donation and transplantation. The event materials note that more than 10,000 Texans wait for transplants. LifeGift lists fundraising progress and a target goal for the event fundraising efforts.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for September 18 at LifeGift, 2510 Westridge St., Houston, TX 77054. Teams are encouraged; teams with five or more in-person members receive a refund of $2.00 per eligible member.
