Champions of Hope 2026
Champions of Hope 2026 is the 17th annual community running and fundraising event organized by the Southeast Health Foundation at The Plant in downtown Dothan, Alabama. The event takes place on October 17, 2026, at 308 North Saint Andrews Street and combines timed races, a non-competitive walk, live music, and community activities.
Race and activity options include:
- Molly’s Mile non-competitive walk
- 5K chip-timed
- 10K chip-timed
Local high school bands will perform during the event. The venue will feature roving entertainment, family activities, local vendors, and speakers. Participants receive commemorative event t-shirts and finisher medals. Online registration closes at noon on Wednesday, October 14; onsite registration and volunteer or team t-shirt pickup are available Friday, October 16 and the morning of the event at The Plant.
Proceeds support cancer services and patient support in the region. Since 2008 the event has raised more than one million dollars. The 2026 funding project is the Champions of Hope Patient Comfort Initiative, which details enhancements to infusion chairs and patient amenities such as improved stability features, magnetic caster guidance, soothing heat and massage options, and integrated USB charging to support patient comfort during treatment.
