CHAMP 5K Run/Walk : Providing Hope, Support, and Respite to Children Fighting Cancer and their Families
The CHAMP 5K Run/Walk is a community event held on September 19, 2026 at Kiwanis Park, North Soccer Field in Tempe, Arizona. The event brings together more than 2,000 attendees and over 28 nonprofit organizations to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer causes. All proceeds directly benefit local nonprofits that support children with cancer and their families.
The program includes a 5K run and walk, a CHAMPION Walk for children on treatment or in remission and their families, a pancake breakfast included with registration, exhibitor booths, vendors, a raffle and a silent auction. Additional on-site activities typically include a Carry A Bead program, blood and bone marrow registration with Be the Match, water stations along the course, and informational booths from participating organizations.
Registered participants receive a custom tech shirt, finishing medal, bib, official timing, and breakfast. The race is timed by Race Place Events and results are posted online and displayed at on-site monitors. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to top three males and females in standard age categories.
Exhibitor and sponsor opportunities are available with specified benefits and fee levels. Non-profit exhibitor requirements include 501(c)(3) status, an interactive booth, a participation fee, a running/walking team, and volunteer support.
