CHAMP 5K Run/Walk
CHAMP 5K Run/Walk is an annual collaborative childhood cancer event that brings together attendees, non-profit organizations, families, and community supporters. The event features a 5K run and walk, a CHAMPION Walk for children on treatment or in remission, a pancake breakfast included with registration, and a fair with food, activities, vendors, and informational booths from dozens of non-profit groups.
The event is scheduled for September 19, 2026, at Kiwanis Park, North Soccer Field, 5300 S Ash Avenue, Tempe, AZ. It takes place during pediatric cancer awareness month, and all proceeds are distributed to local non-profits that support families and programs for children with cancer. The day aims to raise awareness, provide information about services in Arizona, and help establish networks of support among families and organizations.
Registered participants receive a custom tech shirt, a finishing medal, a bib, race timing, and breakfast. CHAMP is a timed race with awards for overall male and female winners and placement awards by age categories from 12 and under through 70 plus. The CHAMPION Walk is free for the child and family members; children on treatment or in remission who register for the CHAMPION Walk receive a CHAMPION shirt, medal, and goody bag. The event also includes a Carry a Bead program and on-site blood and bone marrow drives. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
