Celebrate a Nurse 5K and 1 Mile Walk
The Celebrate a Nurse event is an annual athletic gathering held at the Madison College-Reedsburg Campus in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. This event offers multiple participation options for community members, alumni, and current students. Participants may choose from the following distances:
- 5K (Run or Walk)
- 1 Mile Walk
- Virtual 5K
The 5K route is a timed event for those choosing to run, while the 1 Mile distance is organized as a walk. Participants in the 5K are eligible for awards, which are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age brackets. These divisions include participants aged 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and over.
The event allows for team entries at no additional cost. These teams can consist of nursing alumni classes, healthcare departments, organizations, or families. There is no limit on team size, and an award is given to the most creative team based on their attire.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual 5K option is available. Virtual participants located within Sauk County can collect their event shirts at the Reedsburg Campus, while others will have their shirts shipped. Proceeds from the event support a scholarship fund for nursing students at Madison College – Reedsburg. In-person registrations may be transferred to the virtual category if plans change.
