About the race
The Céide Coast Atlantic Run takes place in Ballycastle, County Mayo, on 19 September 2026. The event offers two races: a 10 km and a half marathon, both following coastal roads along the North Mayo Céide Coast.
Both routes start at the Céide Fields Visitor Centre and run along the coast road, passing Céide cliffs and Ballycastle beach before continuing toward Downpatrick Head. The half-marathon route includes a section that enters the headland with about 500 m of off-road running and provides views of the Dún Briste sea stack at Downpatrick Head where visibility allows. The 10 km follows the coastal route back toward Ballycastle and joins the half-marathon finishing route in the village.
Race pack collection is available at Ballycastle Community Hall on the Friday and Saturday before race day. Participants travel from Ballycastle village to the start by coach on the morning of the race. Registration is online only. Each entrant receives a uniquely designed medal and a souvenir tech top. Refreshments are provided in Ballycastle Community Hall after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
