Cedar Rapids Hot Cider Hustle
The Cedar Rapids Hot Cider Hustle is an annual autumn running event held in Iowa. The race features a course that takes participants along the Cedar River Trail, starting and finishing at the Newbo City Market. The routes are designed to be flat and fast, showcasing the natural autumn scenery of the area.
Participants can choose from three main distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
The event offers both chip-timed and fun run categories. For those in the chip-timed categories, results are recorded using a timing chip integrated into the bib number. Pacers are available for the half marathon to assist runners in reaching specific goal times.
Every participant receives a finisher mug and has a choice between a premium thin-tec hoodie or a classic t-shirt. Half marathon finishers receive a medal, while participants in the 5 km and 10 km races have the option to add a medal to their registration. Upon crossing the finish line, hot apple cider and caramel apples are provided to all runners.
The event supports Families Helping Families of Iowa, a nonprofit organization that assists foster care children and their families. While dogs are not permitted, strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers who start at the back of the starting corral. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
