Cedar Rapids Fire Department Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at College Community Schools, Prairie Hill Elementary School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The program includes a firefighter challenge, a children’s half mile fun run for ages 8 and under, and awards presentations later the same day.

Registration options include a paid entry with a shirt and a lower fee without a shirt. The shirt option is available through May 10 and the reduced fee without a shirt is available through May 21. After those dates, in-person registration will be offered on the night before the event at Central Fire Station and on race day for a higher fee without a shirt. A donation option to the Cedar Rapids Firefighters Foundation is listed as part of the event materials.
Awards include bobble head trophies for overall male and female winners, overall masters for participants over 40, top places in the firefighter challenge, and medals for first through third in each age group. Age groups are 8 and under, 9 to 13, 14 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. All finishers in the kids fun run receive a memorial junior firefighter medal.
The course starts in front of Prairie Hill Elementary School and continues on roads within the College Community School campus.
