Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run
The Castle Rock Trail Festival takes place in Philip S. Miller Park and the Ridgeline Open Space in Colorado. The event utilizes the local trail system, reaching a high point of 6,700 feet. The terrain consists of open space trails where participants may encounter local wildlife such as deer, foxes, and rabbits.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 50K (Ultramarathon)
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Family Adventure Run (Obstacle course for children ages 5 to 12 and families)
The 50K race consists of two loops and has an 8-hour time limit. Runners must reach the halfway point before a specific cutoff to continue. Aid stations throughout the course provide bottled water, basic first aid, and electrolytes at several locations. A drop bag area is available for 50K participants near the finish line.
All registered participants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. The races are professionally timed using disposable bib chips. Post-race refreshments include water, electrolytes, and beer, with snacks available for participants after the event. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories for all distances from the 5K upwards.
