Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run
The Castle Rock Trail Festival / liveBIG Run is a trail running and walking event held in Castle Rock, Colorado, primarily using trails at Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3.
Distances and options include:
- liveBIG Family Adventure Run for ages 5 to 12
- Philip S. Miller 5K
- Ridgeline 10K
- Ridgeline Trail Half Marathon
- Ridgeline 50K
All participants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. The races use professional chip timing with a disposable bib chip. Event photos are available for download after the event, and post-race refreshments will be provided. Race day registration is available at the event; fees increase by $15 for all races except the Family Adventure Run.
Entry fees listed by the organizer are: Family Adventure Run $20, 5K $35, 10K $45, Half Marathon $65, 50K $95; listed prices do not include required taxes and fees.
The 50K ultramarathon carries an eight hour time limit. Aid stations will provide bottled water and basic first aid items, with electrolytes available at selected stations. A drop bag area is provided near the start of the second 50K loop. Awards are given overall and by age group for races 5K and up. The course reaches about 6,700 feet in elevation; early October temperatures can vary and trails may be muddy. Wildlife may be present on open space trails.
