Wagging Tails on Trails at Case Creek Valley
Wagging Tails on Trails is a community 2K and 5K trail run and walk held on September 20, 2026, at 7625 120th Avenue, Coal Valley, IL. The course runs through pastures and woodlands around Case Creek Valley. The event is untimed and focuses on participation rather than competition.

Participants receive event items that may include a custom T-shirt, a finisher dog tag, a custom race bib, and a post-event treat. There are hydration stations and treats available for canine finishers. Participants who want specific apparel options are advised to register before September 6 to secure preferred swag; there is also an option to skip the T-shirt during registration.
The event supports the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control Shelter. Dogs are allowed but must follow safety and county rules: dogs must be on leash at all times, no retractable leashes, leashes no longer than 6 feet, dogs must be at least six months old, no female dogs in heat, no aggressive dogs, and all dogs must be current on vaccinations. Participants should bring waste bags and clean up after their animals, and people should avoid petting unfamiliar dogs and keep at least two feet from other dogs when possible.
Registration fees vary by date and category. Adults 16 and older are charged between $27.50 and $44.50 depending on registration timing. Children aged 5 to 15 pay $15.50 when accompanied by an adult.
