Case Creek Tails on Trails 5K
The event is a dog friendly trail run and walk held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Case Creek Valley in Coal Valley, Illinois. Routes pass through pastures and woodlands around the valley and are offered as fun, noncompetitive runs and walks; finishing times are not recorded.

Participants receive event items that may include a custom T-shirt, a finisher dog tag, a custom race bib, and a post-finish treat. T-shirt availability depends on registering by September 6. The event supports the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control Shelter; proceeds help with animal care.
Dogs are allowed but must meet safety and local requirements: leashes only (no retractable leashes), leash length no longer than six feet, no dogs under six months, no female dogs in heat, no aggressive dogs, and current vaccinations are required. Handlers should bring waste bags and clean up after their dogs. Attendees are asked to keep a safe distance from unfamiliar dogs and to avoid petting them unless invited. The event proceeds in most weather conditions; in extreme weather it may be canceled or postponed.
