CASA SuperHero 5K and Walk
CASA of Midwest Kentucky will host the CASA SuperHero 5K and Walk at Mahr Park Arboretum in Madisonville, Kentucky. The event is organized to bring awareness to child abuse prevention and to support CASA volunteers who advocate for children involved in the child welfare system. The program serves children in Hopkins, Henderson, Crittenden, Union, Muhlenberg, and Webster counties; last year over 728 children needed services and 144 children received help.
The event includes an in-person 5K run, an on-site walk, and a virtual run option. Adult registration is associated with a $30 donation for the 5K, the walk, or the virtual run and includes an event t-shirt for pre-registered participants. Children 12 and under may register for the walk with a $10 donation and receive a cape.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Prize categories include best child costume, best family or group costume, best pet costume, and best adult costume; running awards include top finishers by age categories. Food trucks, an information booth about CASA services, and local heroes and superheroes on site are part of the event experience.
