The 12th Annual CASA Superhero Run: Spidey Edition
The CASA Superhero 5K and Kids 1 Mile events take place at Percival's Island Trail in Lynchburg, Virginia. This family-oriented event features a course along the James River on a narrow out-and-back path. All 5K and Kids 1 Mile finishers receive a medal, and 5K participants also receive a race shirt or cape and a swag bag.

- Assisted Participant 5K (3.1 miles)
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run
- Couch Crusader (0.0 mile virtual option)
The 5K Run is a professionally timed event with awards for the top three male and female finishers overall, masters winners, and the top three in each age group. The 5K Walk is a non-competitive, timed event. For the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, children up to age 12 can participate in specific waves, including options for running solo, with a parent, or with a stroller.
The course includes a water station at the halfway point for the 5K and a hydration stop for the Kids Run. Refreshments are provided at the finish line. Because the trail is narrow, headphones and strollers are discouraged; those using strollers must start at the back. Assisted athletes with disabilities start several minutes early for safety. A costume contest is held with awards for creativity and superhero spirit.
Free shuttle services from nearby downtown parking lots are provided to transport participants to the trail. A combined registration cap of 550 exists for the 5K events, while the Kids 1 Mile is limited to 250 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
