Event Details
The 1st Carrera Internacional Nocturna La Cala del Moral is an evening running event taking place on May 9, 2026. It is organized by the Rincón de la Victoria City Council through its Sports Department and the Málaga Bahía Athletics Club. The event is on the calendar of both the Spanish (RFEA) and Andalusian (FAA) Athletics Federations and will be officiated by judges from the FAA.
Distances and Participants
The event features multiple distances for different age categories. All national and international athletes can participate if they comply with RFEA and FAA regulations.
- 5 km: For categories from Sub-18 to Master. The race starts on the Paseo Marítimo Blas Infante, near Restaurante Avante Claro, and finishes near the Antigua Estación de la Cala del Moral.
- 2.5 km: For Sub-12, Sub-14, and Sub-16 categories. It uses the same start and finish points as the 5 km course.
- 1 km: For Sub-6, Sub-8, and Sub-10 categories. This race starts and finishes near the Antigua Estación de la Cala del Moral.
Participants in the 5 km race must have a license from the RFEA or FAA or purchase a "day license" for 3 euros. The general registration fee is 8 euros. Registration is open from January 5 to May 3, 2026, online through the Andalusian Athletics Federation website.
Awards and Prizes
5 km Race: The first five male and female finishers receive cash prizes: 1,000, 500, 250, 150, and 100 euros respectively. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall. 2.5 km Race: The top three male and female finishers receive cash prizes of 100, 75, and 50 euros, plus trophies. All Categories: Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each established age category (from Sub-6 to Master 75). From 4th to 10th place in the younger categories (Sub-6 to Sub-16), finishers receive a medal. Prizes are cumulative.
Additional Information
The first 500 registered participants receive a free t-shirt. After the awards ceremony, 40 gifts will be raffled among all finishers using their bib numbers. Prizes include hotel stays, vouchers for local sports shops and restaurants, and cinema tickets. Bib collection takes place on the day of the race at the Málaga Bahía Athletics Club stand on the Paseo Marítimo de la Cala del Moral (near Restaurante Avante Claro) or on the previous days at a local Carrefour hypermarket. The award ceremony starts at 21:30 at the Llano de las Palmeras on the Paseo Marítimo Blas Infante. Medical services and an ambulance will be present during the event.
