Carl's 5K and Fall Fest
Carl's 5K and Fall Fest is a community event at Iowa Farm Sanctuary in Oxford, Iowa on October 17, 2026. The event offers an in-person 5K run/walk, a virtual 5K option, and a spectator pass for non-runners.
In-person registration includes an entry, bib, medal and a race packet. Virtual registration includes a mailed packet, medal and t-shirt and provides the ability to upload and post times. An additional shipping fee applies for Alaska, Hawaii and international virtual participants. Registrations made after September 23, 2026 receive an entry, bib, medal and race packet but not a shirt.
The spectator pass provides access to festival activities and includes a cinnamon roll from Cinnaholic, cider, a pumpkin to paint and sanctuary strolls during the event. The run course winds around the sanctuary grounds and provides a route that passes rescued residents; participants can visit animals and stroll the sanctuary after finishing.
Fees listed for the event formats include separate charges for in-person and virtual participation and for the spectator pass. The event commemorates Carl, the first cow rescued by the sanctuary, and combines a 5K with fall festival activities such as food and pumpkin painting.
