Cardinal Color Run
The Cardinal Color Run is a community running event held in Monroe, North Carolina. Organized through a partnership between the Union Academy High School Student Council, the Varsity Cross Country team, and the UA Foundation, this event serves as a fundraiser where fifty percent of the proceeds and all donations are directed to Victory Junction.
The primary event is a 5k race where participants can run, walk, or jog. During the course, runners are covered in colored powder. This powder is non-toxic, gluten-free, and safe for all ages as well as pets. Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing at the start to allow the colors to stand out, and the use of bandanas, goggles, or sunglasses is suggested to protect the face.
The race offers several registration categories based on age and equipment:
- 5k for participants aged 13 and older.
- 5k for children aged 12 and under.
- 5k for stroller participants including a t-shirt.
- 5k for stroller participants without a t-shirt.
Registration includes specific deadlines for guaranteed t-shirts. After the initial period, registration remains open with a price increase until the final pre-race deadline. Race-day check-in and registration are also available on-site at 675 N. MLK Jr. Blvd. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
