Carcoar Cup Running Festival

The Carcoar Cup Running Festival is a community event held in the historic village of Carcoar, located in Central West NSW. Now in its 11th year, the festival features a variety of distances held on a course that includes bitumen, dirt tracks, hills, and undulations through the countryside.

Participants can choose from several event categories:

  • Marathon (42.2 km)
  • Teams Marathon
  • Half Marathon (21.1 km)
  • 10 km Special
  • Carcoar to Creek Dash (6 km)
  • Carcoar Cup for Kids (1.8 km)

The marathon event has a 6-hour cut-off time, while the shorter distances do not have specified cut-off times. All events are professionally chip timed, and finishers receive a themed medal. The 1.8 km Family Dash is designed for younger participants, with the option for an accompanying adult to join.

The course passes through landmarks such as Mount Macquarie and the town of Neville. Bib collection takes place at the historic Carcoar Court House. The festival atmosphere includes live music and local food, with a prize-giving ceremony held at the Royal Hotel.

Historically, temperatures for the event have ranged between 8 and 22 degrees Celsius. While roads are closed and supervised by the Rural Fire Service, participants are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
