Carcoar Cup Running Festival
The Carcoar Cup is a recurring community running event held in the historic village of Carcoar in Central West New South Wales. The event program includes a full marathon and a range of shorter races that run on a mix of surfaces through town and surrounding countryside.
Location is listed as Belubula Street, Carcoar, NSW.
Event distances:
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Teams Marathon
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 10 km Special
- Carcoar to Creek Dash 6 km
- Carcoar Cup for Kids 1.8 km
The course includes bitumen and dirt tracks with hills, dales and undulating sections; the route passes through or near the towns of Neville and Carcoar and features views of Mount Macquarie and local countryside. The marathon has been described as "the most scenic marathon in Australia" on event materials.
All event distances are chip timed by Multisport Australia. Finishers receive a Carcoar-themed medal and sponsor giveaways. A photographer is present on course and photos are published after the event. There is no cut-off time for shorter races and the half marathon; the full marathon has a six hour cut-off. Organisers advise vigilance on course and note that roads are closed and supervised by the Rural Fire Service.
Volunteers are invited to assist with course marshalling and registration and are offered benefits such as entry to a future race and event refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
