Cara Cara MTB and Trail Run
Cara Cara is a combined mountain bike and trail running event held at Ruby River Resort near Groblersdal in Limpopo. The venue sits on the banks of the Olifants River in the Loskop Valley, near Loskop Dam. The event offers multiple route options for cyclists and runners and presents a family-oriented day with on-site amenities.
Distances offered include:
- 60 km MTB
- 40 km MTB
- 18 km MTB
- 10 km MTB
- 21 km Trail Run
- 10 km Trail Run
- 4 km Trail Walk
- Dual Challenge: 10 km Trail Run and 40 km MTB
Entries include a finisher medal for all finishers and a goodie bag except for the 4 km run. There are water points along the routes and live timing managed by ROR Events. Venue entry and parking are included. On-site offerings include a beer tent, food stalls, a cycling shop, and other exhibitors.
Race boards for timing are supplied with entry and must be returned after the event. The 60 km and 40 km MTB classes require a Cycling South Africa license; a day license is available for those without one. Online entries close on Wednesday 2 September 2026 or when the entry cap is reached. Late or on-the-day entries carry a R30 surcharge.
