Event overview

The Capel 5 and 1 mile Fun Run take place in Capel St Mary, Ipswich on 12 October 2025. Race headquarters are at the pavilion, Friars, Capel St Mary, IP9 2XS. The event holds UK Athletics licence number 28642 and is run under UK Athletics regulations. Toilets will be available in the pavilion with additional portaloos on the playing field. There will be a bag drop area, and food and drink will be available with proceeds going to charity.

The 5 mile race is an out-and-back road course that includes an undulating route through and out of the village and a short 400 m section along a footpath through fields. It is open to entrants aged 15 and over, is chip timed, has online registration and transfers, and is limited to 250 places. Entry fees are shown with a £2 discount for England Athletics affiliates (affiliate fee reported as £14 and non-affiliated £16). There will be no on-the-day entries and no refunds. No in-ear headphones are permitted; bone conducting headphones are allowed.

The 1 mile children’s Fun Run takes place entirely on the playing fields, is chip timed, limited to 125 places, and is for runners under 15. Adults may accompany young children if needed. All finishers receive a medal and treat. Prizes are awarded in the published male and female age categories and for local residents. Parking is available in an overflow car park next to Bypass Nurseries on London Road and a small car park on the playing fields. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
