Cape Blossom Marathon
The Cape Blossom Marathon is a community-hosted running event in Kotzebue, Alaska, held above the Arctic Circle. This will be the event's second year and it highlights the Iñupiaq lands' tradition of distance running and local athletic competition.
The event offers the following distances:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
The course includes a mix of dirt roads, beach, and trail. Participation is open to runners, hikers, beach combers, and berry pickers. A bike category is offered for local participants.
Online registration opens April 29, 2026 and closes July 16, 2026. Entry payment is handled directly by the City of Kotzebue; the stated entry fee is $100 with a 75% discount for local participants.
