Cannonball Run
The Cannonball Run is a trail running event held at the Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, South Carolina. Managed by Palmetto Ultras, the event takes place on a 3.3-mile loop consisting of dirt roads, double-track trails, and maintained grassy sections. The course is designed with minimal technical challenges and features approximately 49 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Participants can choose from various formats, including a 34-hour event and a Last Man Standing race. In the Last Man Standing format, runners must complete the 3.3-mile loop every 48 minutes to remain in the competition. The race continues until only one participant remains and completes a final solo lap. Runners in the 34-hour event have the flexibility to start at their convenience after the official start and run as much or as little as they prefer. There is also a specific registration category for youth runners aged 14 and under.
Available distances and categories include:
- Last Man Standing
- 34 Hours
- Ruck Division
- Kids Registration (14 and under)
The event site provides primitive camping for all registered runners, featuring access to a bathhouse with toilets and hot showers. Participants can set up tents or canopies along the course. An aid station at the start/finish line provides snacks and hydration, and prepared meals are available throughout the weekend. All finishers receive a custom medal, while runners who reach 100 miles are awarded a buckle. The winner of the Last Man Standing event receives an engraved cannonball trophy.
