About the race
The Cannonball Run is a trail running event held April 9 to April 11, 2027 at Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, organized by Palmetto Ultras. The event uses a 3.3 mile loop that includes about 49 feet of elevation gain per loop and runs on dirt roads, double-track trails, and well-maintained grassy sections.
Race formats offered include a 34 hour event and a Last Man Standing format. In the Last Man Standing format runners must complete each 3.3 mile loop within 48 minutes to remain in the race; the race continues until a single runner completes a final solo lap. Runners eliminated from Last Man Standing have the option to join the 34 hour event. All runners who complete at least one loop receive a custom medal and are recorded as finishers. Runners who reach 100 miles receive a buckle. Awards are given for top finishers in the 34 hour races, ruck division, and youth division; the Last Man Standing winner receives an engraved cannonball.
Primitive camping is included for registered runners and includes access to a bathhouse with toilets and hot showers. RV sites and on-site rooms are available through the property. One aid station at the start/finish will be stocked with water, electrolytes, coffee, PBJ, chips, candy, and other race snacks. Meal service is provided on race weekend and runners and volunteers eat free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
