Candle Lake Fun Run
Candle Lake Fun Run is a community event that raises awareness and funds for mental health initiatives in Saskatchewan. The event is organized by Candle Lake Fun Run Inc., a volunteer group from the local community focused on creating a supportive environment for open discussion about mental health.
The run takes place on the paths of the Candle Lake Golf Resort property. Two course options are offered:
- 5K Walk/Run
- 10K Run
Participant numbers are capped at 550. There are water stations on the course at approximately the 3.5 km and 7 km marks. Medical aid and a first aid station are located in the start and finish area. Pets are not allowed on the event site or golf course except for service dogs for visually impaired participants.
Finishing participants receive a medal and can pick up a post-run snack at the Communities in Bloom tent. Additional on-site features include live music, food trucks, prizes for best costume and group costume, and a Cargill Kidz Zone with activities for children. Registrations are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable. An online silent auction is held in June to help raise funds for local mental health programs.
