Candle Lake Fun Run
The event is organized to raise awareness and funds for mental health and to help reduce stigma for people who suffer from mental health challenges. It aims to provide a safe, supportive community setting where participants and visitors can discuss mental health and help finance local services and programs in Saskatchewan.
The third annual event is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at the Candle Lake Golf Resort. The route takes place on the paths of the resort golf course. Distances offered include:
- 5 km walk/run
- 10 km run
Course services include two water stations located near the 3.5 km and 7 km marks, medical aid and a first aid tent at the start and finish area, and a medal at the finish. A post-run snack will be available at the Communities in Bloom tent. The event also features live music, prizes for best costume and group costume, food trucks, and a family activity area called the Cargill Kidz Zone. An online silent auction is planned with the date to be announced.
The Fun Run is organized by a small volunteer board with support from sponsors and community groups. Registration is limited to 550 participants and is accepted until September 8, 2026. Entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds; proceeds will go to mental health initiatives in Saskatchewan and to local community programs.
