Candle Lake Fun Run
The Candle Lake Fun Run is a charity event that raises awareness and funds for mental health initiatives in Saskatchewan. The organizers aim to foster a culture of openness and support around mental health and to fund community programs in Candle Lake.
The event takes place on the paths of the Candle Lake Golf Resort and offers two distances:
- 5 km walk/run
- 10 km run
There are two water stations on the course, at about 3.5 km and around 7 km. Medical aid and a first aid station are located in the start/finish area. Pets are not allowed on site or on the course except for service dogs for visually impaired participants.
Finishers receive a medal and a post-run snack at the Communities in Bloom tent. The event site includes an event tent where food and refreshments are available, live music, food trucks, prizes for best costume and best group costume, and a kid zone with activities. Race entries are limited to 550 participants; registrations are accepted until September 8, 2026. Entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds. Race package pickup is offered in nearby cities before the event. An online silent auction is planned with the date to be announced; the 2025 auction raised $8,500.
The event is organized by a small volunteer board and relies on volunteers and community sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
