About the race
The Candle Lake Fun Run is a community event organized to raise awareness and funds for mental health initiatives in Saskatchewan. The event is held at the Candle Lake Golf Resort and uses the resort golf course paths for its route. Proceeds and registration fees support mental health programs and community projects in Candle Lake and across Saskatchewan.
The event offers two course options:
- 5 km Walk/Run
- 10 km Run
The course includes two water stations located near the 3.5 km mark and around the 7 km mark. Medical aid and a first aid station are provided at the start and finish area. Participants receive a medal at the finish and can pick up a post-run snack at the Communities in Bloom snack tent. Onsite amenities include an event tent with food and live music, food trucks, costume prizes, and a family Kidz Zone with activities.
The fun run is organized by a volunteer board operating as Candle Lake Fun Run Inc. The event is limited to 550 participants and 2026 registration is listed as sold out. Entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds; funds not required to cover race expenses are donated to local community needs and mental health supports.
