Cade's Cause: Concussion & CTE Awareness Run/Walk
Cade's Cause is a community run/walk at Grant Amphitheater at Clement Park in Littleton, Colorado. The event aims to honor an individual, raise awareness about the lasting effects of concussions and repetitive head impacts, and direct funds to the Concussion & CTE Foundation.
Organizers say the honoree received a diagnosis of Stage II CTE, and that this informed the purpose of the event. A Celebration of Life will take place before the race. After the race there will be live music, food trucks, and time for people to gather and share memories.
The race course circles Clement Park Lake. Each lap is 1.5 miles and the course allows a 5K option using two laps.
- 1.5 mile lap around Clement Park Lake
- 5K course as two laps
There are separate event categories for adults and for children aged 5 to 12. The adult registration fee is $25 and the child fee is $10. Children under 5 or those who decline a T-shirt are free. Registration fees include a T-shirt and bib. Remaining funds collected will be donated to the Concussion & CTE Foundation in honor of the honoree. Organizers are collecting letters from people who knew the honoree to give the children a record of memories. The event is outdoors and there is no seating at the amphitheater.
