Buttermere Trail Race 2027

The Buttermere Trail Race is a single-lap trail event located in Buttermere Village, Cumbria. The race follows a circular route that stays at a low level while encircling the shores of Buttermere and Crummock Water. Participants navigate a متنوع terrain that includes lakeshore trails, hard-packed rocky paths, grassy tracks, and woodland singletrack.

The course is approximately 20 km in length and features an undulating profile. The initial section along the western shoreline of Crummock Water is technical, with ground that is generally wet and rough underfoot. The latter portion of the route consists primarily of more hard-packed trails. The entire course is fully marked, meaning runners do not require previous navigation experience to participate.

The event is held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association license pending. Registration is open to individuals with a minimum age of 17 years. The race can accommodate a maximum of 200 participants.
