Butterfly Run - London
The Butterfly Run is a fundraising event organised by Cure EB at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on Sunday 4 October 2026. The event offers a mix of running and family activities while raising funds for research into epidermolysis bullosa, a severe genetic skin condition that causes blistering and skin loss. Children with the condition are often called Butterfly Children because their skin is described as fragile as a butterfly's wings.
Participants receive a race t-shirt, race number, time chip, and finisher medal. Trophies are presented after all races are complete. The event includes on-site entertainment such as music, balloon modelling, face painting, and an egg and spoon race for children. Dogs are not allowed on the course and spectators must keep dogs on a lead.
Distances available:
- 1 km fun run open to all ages
- 5 km open to all ages
- 10 km open to participants aged 13 and over
Safety and supervision rules are stated for younger participants: children under 10 must be accompanied on the course by a participating adult; participants over 10 and under 18 may take part independently but an accompanying adult must remain on site at all times. The event location is listed as Brew Street Cafe & Bar at Timber Lodge, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 1A Honor Lea Avenue, E20 1DY. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
