Blooms & Butterflies Festival
The Elkton Community Education Center presents the Blooms & Butterflies Festival in Elkton, Oregon. The event celebrates the return of blooms and butterflies to North Douglas County and includes a community run plus daytime family activities.
The race options include:
- 1/4 mile Dragonfly Loop
- 5K Butterfly Run/Walk
The festival features free family friendly activities, craft vendors, information booths and food. Visitors can tour the Butterfly Pavilion to learn about native butterfly life cycles and take tours of historic Fort Umpqua. A gift shop and a Native Plant Nursery offer garden themed items and plants for backyard habitat.
The running event is the 19th annual Butterfly 5K and Dragonfly Loop. Awards are given for first, second and third place in several age categories, and there is a costume contest with an awards ceremony. Registration by May 31 guarantees a t shirt. Early packet pickup is available the week of the race and same day registration and check in are offered.
