Butterfly Run / Walk
The Butterfly Run / Walk takes place in Elkton, Oregon on June 20, 2026. The event is held near the river at 15850 OR-38 W and is organized through the Wellness Initiative at the Elkton Community Education Center.
Registration is available with early bird and regular pricing. Early bird adult registration is $30 through May 31; regular adult registration is $35 beginning June 1. Early bird registration for children 12 and under is $10 through May 31; regular child registration is $15 beginning June 1. All registered participants receive an event T-shirt.
Race options include a main 5K and a short children’s loop.

- 1/4 Mile Dragon Loop for children under 12
The 5K is completed at each participant’s own pace. The day coincides with the Blooms & Butterflies Festival and includes lunch, free kids’ activities, live music, craft vendors, information booths, food, and tours of the Butterfly Pavilion and Fort Umpqua. Participants are encouraged to wear butterfly costumes and may take part in a Butterfly Costume Contest.
Awards include trophies for the overall fastest male and female runners and medals for fastest male and female in each age group: 12 and under, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 plus.
