16th Annual Butterfly 5K : Waynesboro, TN
The event takes place in Waynesboro, Tennessee on June 6, 2026. It is the 16th edition of the Butterfly 5K, organized to support the Butterfly Foundation. The foundation distributes financial assistance to families with children who have life-threatening or life-altering illnesses. As of December 31, 2024, the foundation has provided $1,365,550 to more than 439 children and their families. The foundation was created in 2007 after the illness and death of a child.
Race format, awards and registration

- 1 Mile Fun Run (12 years and under)
Awards include $100 cash for Best Overall Male and Best Overall Female. The first 550 finishers will receive a finishers medal. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are awarded in the 5K for male and female age groups: 0-5, 6-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and 85 & over. Additional awards include Best Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and wheelchair categories (1st male, 1st female). T-shirts are provided for all paid entrants; pre-registered participants are guaranteed their correct shirt size.
