17th Annual Butterfly 5K - Waynesboro, TN
The Butterfly 5K is an annual community run held in Waynesboro, Tennessee on June 6, 2026. The event supports the Butterfly Foundation, created in October 2007 to provide financial assistance to families with children who have life-threatening or life-altering illnesses. As of December 31, 2025 the foundation had provided $1.5 million to more than 459 children and their families in Wayne County and surrounding areas.
The event program includes:
- 5K
- 1-mile fun run for children 12 years and under
Awards and race items include $100 cash prizes for best overall male and best overall female, trophies for 1st through 3rd places in male and female age groups in the 5K, and awards for best overall, masters, and grand masters. Wheelchair divisions include 1st place male and female. The first 550 runners to cross the finish line will receive a finisher medal. T-shirts are provided for all paid entrants; pre-registered participants are guaranteed the right size. If shirts run out on race day, they may be picked up two weeks after the race.
Registration fees are $18 for pre-registration by May 19 and $25 after May 19 (online only). Race day registration is available online only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
