Burn the Bird 5K & 10K : Fargo, ND
Burn the Bird is a Thanksgiving morning running event held in downtown Fargo with start and finish at the YMCA of the Northern Sky - Fercho Branch (400 1st Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103). The event offers two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 miles
- 10K Run - 6.2 miles
Participants receive a custom race shirt, finisher medal, race bib, chip timing, and finish-line refreshments. Results are chip timed with live and final results published online, and awards are presented to the top three overall men and women in both the 5K and 10K. Age-group results are also published.
Strollers are welcome on the course, and manual and electric wheelchairs are permitted; participants using mobility devices are asked to position themselves appropriately at the start for safety. Reduced pricing is offered for participants 12 years old and under. Packet pickup details and the full race-day schedule are announced by organizers prior to the event.
Proceeds from the event benefit LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a free wellness program for cancer survivors that provides exercise support, community connection, and a complimentary YMCA membership for participants and a support person while enrolled.
