Route 66 Centennial Bunion Derby 5K and Fun Walk
The Lebanon Laclede County Route 66 Society hosts a commemorative running and walking event on Route 66 in Lebanon, Missouri. The event takes place on April 24 at Mills Drive by the Lebanon Fairgrounds and highlights a preserved section of Historic Route 66.
Participants follow a course that passes several local Route 66 landmarks, including the Carter and Lawson Phillips Station, the Lenz Tourist Home, Wrink's Market, and the Munger Moss Motel. The event commemorates the Bunion Derby of 1928 and offers a way to experience part of the original roadway.
Race options include:
- 5K Run, professionally chip timed, age group awards
- 10K Run, professionally chip timed
- 15K Challenge, complete both 10K and 5K on race day
- Fun Walk, noncompetitive and open to all ages and abilities
A $50 cash prize is listed for the first place male and first place female finisher in each age group for both the 5K and the 10K. All finishers receive a commemorative finisher medal. Every participant receives an event shirt while supplies last. The 5K, 10K, and 15K Challenge use professional chip timing with results posted shortly after each event.
