Event Overview
The Broken Toe event offers four distinct races: a 50 km ultra run, a 25 km run, a 25 km ruck, and a 50 km ruck. All events share a 9.5-hour time limit. The race is part of the No Way 200k Series.
Course Details
The course is a single loop of approximately 16 miles (25.7 km) through Caesar Creek State Park. The trail features wooded areas, rolling hills, gullies, and creek crossings. It passes through a forest canopy and parallels Caesar Creek Lake. The loop is run once for the 25K distances and twice for the 50K distances. The start and finish are at the campground parking area.
Aid & Support
There are four aid stations along the loop: two are manned with snacks, Tailwind, water, hand sanitizer, menstrual products, and portable toilets; the other two are unmanned and provide water only. The race is cupless, meaning participants must carry their own vessel for fluids at aid stations. Drop bags are allowed for 50K participants at the start/finish line.
Rules & Logistics
An early start option is available for those concerned about the time limit. Ruck participants must carry a weighted pack: a minimum of 15 lbs for those under 150 lbs body weight, and a minimum of 20 lbs for those over 150 lbs. The 50K race is designated as an RRCA Championship event for the year.
Registration & Apparel
Registration closes on October 31, 2026, or when the race sells out. Registering by October 1, 2026, guarantees participant swag. Optional apparel, including a beanie and hoodie, can be ordered with a deadline of October 1, 2026. All finishers receive a unique token.
