ORRRC Broken Toe 50K & 25K & Ruck
The event is a trail race and ruck at Caesar Creek State Park Campground in Wilmington, OH. It uses a roughly 16 mile loop that runs through wooded areas, rolling hills, gullies, creek crossings, and sections that parallel Caesar Creek Lake. GPS devices may show final loop mileage between about 15.6 and 16.5 miles.
Distances:
- 50K run (two laps of the loop)
- 25K run (one lap of the loop)
- 50K ruck (two laps with weighted pack)
- 25K ruck (one lap with weighted pack)
The course starts and finishes at the campground parking area and follows a short paved approach to a trailhead before moving through the Campground Loop, Turkey Run Trail, Ward Loop, Harveysburg Loop, and back to the campground. There are four aid stations: two manned and two unmanned. Manned stations provide snacks, Tailwind, water, hand sanitizer, menstrual products, and porta-potties; unmanned stations provide water only. This is a cupless race; no cups are provided at aid stations. Runners must check in at the aid station located near the Harveysburg MTB trailhead.
Cutoff is 9.5 hours for all distances; 50K participants must begin the second lap early enough to meet that overall cutoff. Drop bags are permitted at the start/finish for 50K runners. Ruck participants should carry a minimum of 15 to 20 pounds depending on body weight and report their ruck weight at check in. Optional apparel (beanie and hoodie) is available with an order deadline to guarantee items before the event. Registration opens January 23, 2026 and closes later in the year or when the race sells out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
