British Athletics Up-and-Down Trial
The British Athletics Up-and-Down Trial is a mountain and trail running event held at Whinlatter Forest Park, featuring senior and junior races. The senior course covers 14 km with 750 meters of ascent and descent, while the junior race is 7.7 km with 400 meters of climb and descent. The routes run on forest fire roads and smaller trails with good, fast surfaces, starting behind Thornthwaite and finishing near the visitor center.
The event serves as a classic trial for the British Athletics Senior & Junior World Mountain & Trail Running Championships and includes the Senior Home Countries International.
