British Athletics Up-and-Down Trial
The British Athletics Up-and-Down Trial is a mountain and trail running event held at Whinlatter Forest Park, featuring senior and junior races. The senior race covers 14 km with 750 m of ascent and descent, while the junior race is 7.7 km with 400 m of climb and descent. The course runs on forest fire roads and smaller trails with a fast, good surface, starting behind Thornthwaite and finishing near the visitor centre.
The event serves as a classic trial for the British Athletics Senior & Junior World Mountain & Trail Running Championships and includes the Senior Home Countries International.
