Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100s
The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100s is a multi-distance trail event that uses the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail corridor in Queensland. The event spans several options and runs over multiple days, beginning from Yarraman Heritage Centre and finishing at the Ipswich Grammar School playing fields for the 100 mile course. The 200 mile option runs from the Ipswich Grammar School playing fields to Yarraman and returns along the same route.
Distances include:
- 200 mile
- 100 mile
- 100 km
- 50 mile
- Marathon
- Half marathon
The 100 mile course meets the 100 km start at Harlin; the 50 mile starts at Toogoolawah; the marathon at Coominya; and the half marathon at Fernvale. Pacers must be registered, cannot carry kit for their runner, and are permitted from defined points on each distance.
The course is signed from start to finish with location coordinate markers every kilometre. Each participant must carry a minimum of a water bottle; water is supplied at checkpoints along the route. A mandatory kit list applies to all participants and pacers; recommended additional items include an external phone charger, backup light, first aid pack, extra clothing in drop bags, sunscreen, insect repellent, chafe prevention, collapsible cup, and bite treatment.
Participants may be withdrawn for medical reasons until authorised to continue. The organisers request that runners follow litter rules and cooperate with event crew and checkpoint staff. GPS files and alternative route details are provided for navigation. The event has a cut-off on June 21st. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
