Brisbane Road Runners Club : 5km Championship at Orleigh Park
Brisbane Road Runners Club organises a 5 km Championship on a flat, accurately measured circuit along Riverside Drive in West End, starting from the SBSC Clubhouse at Orleigh Park. The club has run road events in Brisbane since 1982 and holds events throughout the year, generally every second Sunday.
The course is a loop along Riverside Drive; longer distances are completed as multiple laps of that circuit. Events run with police-approved permits and have marshals stationed along the course. Electronic timing records lap and finish times, and a digital clock is visible at the start/finish line. Participants receive free post-race bananas and there is a bring-your-own (BYO) water table.
Events are open to both club members and visitors. Club members do not pay entry fees. Registration opens online on the Monday before each event and closes at 7pm on the Saturday night before; there are no late entries and no registration on race morning.
