Event Overview
The Brigham 10k is a road running event held in the village of Brigham near Cockermouth. The race follows a 10 km course that is fully chip timed to provide accurate results for all participants. Organized to support the local community, all funds raised from the event are donated to the Friends of St Bridgets to purchase equipment for the school.
Course Logistics
Participants collect their race numbers from the local Social Club on the morning of the event. Safety briefings are conducted for all runners before the start. For hydration, water stations are located at the halfway point of the route and at the finish line. Due to safety regulations on the course, the use of closed headphones is not permitted.
Facilities and Parking
Parking is available along Low Road, and participants are encouraged to car share to minimize traffic. Parking attendants provide instructions on-site, and drivers are asked to be considerate of runners when leaving. First aid services are available on the course; runners can alert a marshal if medical assistance is required.
Post-Race and Refreshments
Participants receive a clay medal handmade by the children at St Bridget's CofE School upon completing the distance. An awards ceremony takes place at the Social Club once the final runners have finished. In addition to the water provided, the social club and a dedicated cake stall offer hot drinks and various baked goods for purchase after the race.
