Brickyard Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon : Columbus, GA
Brickyard Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon is organized by TriColumbusGa and takes place at 801 Front Ave in Columbus, Georgia. The event offers both a sprint triathlon and a duathlon with specified race legs.
- Triathlon: 500 m swim, 12 mile bike, 5 km run
- Duathlon: 1 mile run, 12 mile bike, 3.2 mile run
The swim is a 500 m downstream section of the river with depths around 4 to 6 feet. Entries from the water slide must be feet first; athletes may instead use steps to the water once they cross the timing mat. The swim start is run in a time-trial format with athletes starting individually.
The bike course is described as a fast, flat out-and-back that begins and ends on Brickyard Road. The run is a single flat loop of approximately 3 miles with an aid station located about 200 yards out of the transition area; that aid station is passed twice on the run course.
Awards are given by gender in age-group increments and for top overall and relay finishers. Each participant receives a medal and a t-shirt, and triathletes are provided a swim cap. Packet pick-up is available at local bike shop locations the days before the event; t-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants.
There are no rain dates. Race management may alter, shorten, or cancel course segments for hazardous conditions and refunds are not offered except in limited circumstances with supporting documentation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
