Breffni Challenge 2026
Breffni Challenge 2026 takes place in Cavan on Saturday 1 August 2026 as the 25th staging of the Breffni 3 Province Challenge. The programme includes both cycling and running events across a range of distances.
Event distances and formats include:
- 100K cycle
- 50K cycle
- 30K cycle
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 7K
- 5K
Organisers have redesigned bespoke t shirts and medals for this year. Each finisher receives a bespoke finishers medal. The event names three cancer charities as its recipients: Friends of St. Lukes Oncology, National Breast Cancer Research Institute Galway, and the Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Fund.
After the finish there will be complimentary refreshments including tea, coffee, sandwiches and other items. Live music is scheduled on the Market Square and later in town pubs. A four course buffet dinner will be available in the Breffni Arms Hotel. Accommodation arrangements are handled by the organisers and details are provided by them.
