Breffni Challenge 2026
Breffni Challenge 2026 takes place on Saturday 1st August in Cavan. The event marks the 25th edition of the Breffni 3 Province Challenge and includes a mix of running and cycling options.

- Half Marathon

- 7 km
- 5 km
- 100K cycle
- 50K cycle
- 30K cycle
Organisers have redesigned the bespoke t-shirts and medals for 2026. Registered participants receive a bespoke finishers medal after they cross the finish line. Tea, coffee, sandwiches and other refreshments are provided at no cost after the event.
The event supports charitable causes. Recipients named for 2026 are Friends of St. Lukes Oncology, the National Breast Cancer Research Institute Galway, and the Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care Fund.
Music and social activities are part of the day. Live music is planned on the Market Square and later in pubs around town. A four course buffet dinner is available at the Breffni Arms Hotel. Accommodation options are offered through the organisers' website.
