Braving The Elements 5k
The Braving The Elements 5k occurs during the Arcade Winterfest Celebration in Arcade, New York. This event includes a standard race for adults and students as well as a dedicated activity for children. A portion of the registration fees collected from participants is donated to a charitable cause.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5k Run / Walk
- 0.4 Miles Kids Fun Run
The 5k course begins at Arcade Elementary School and concludes at the Arcade VFW. Registration for this distance includes a t-shirt for those who complete their entry by the middle of January. Registrations are accepted online until a few days before the event, and on-site registration is also available on the morning of the race at the elementary school.
The Kids Fun Run is held at Arcade Park, with the gathering point located in the shelter at the bottom of the sledding hill near the playground. This event for children follows a half-loop course within the park. There is no registration fee for the kids' race. All children participating in the fun run receive a race bib before the start, followed by a goodie bag and a medal upon completion. Spectators are permitted to stand along the course to support the participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
