Bras Across the CAUSEway 5K and Festival
Bras Across the CAUSEway is an annual community fundraising event centered on a 5K and an on site festival. The 10th annual edition is scheduled for October 10, 2026 at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. The event offers visibility for local businesses through sponsorship levels called Giverbackers and maintains partner promotion throughout the year.
Funds raised provide direct financial assistance to people receiving breast cancer treatment in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Eligible support covers medical bills and diagnostic testing, rent mortgage and utility payments, groceries and household necessities, transportation to treatment, and school supplies or basic needs for children. Organizers work with local oncology social workers and review each application to direct funds to patients in active treatment.
Since 2017 the event has raised more than 175,000 dollars and has involved more than 1,100 participants and bralunteers. Multiple sponsorship tiers are described with estimated impacts. Examples include a Presenting Sponsor at 20,000 estimated to help up to 8 local patients, an Oyster Sponsor at 15,000 estimated to help up to 6 patients, and a Dolphin Sponsor at 10,000 estimated to help up to 4 patients.
