Brandon Hill Half (Kilkenny)

This event is a mountain running half marathon on Brandon Hill, Kilkenny's highest point. The race features a total climb of 906 meters over a distance of 21.27 kilometers. The route is fully marked.

Runners will summit Brandon Hill twice from opposite sides. The first summit is early in the race, followed by a fast descent. The final summit also serves as the last major climb. Mid-race features a new, steep forest climb with a 30% incline. The event finishes with a fast 3-kilometer descent.

Mandatory Kit (Level B) includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. All items must be brought to the race; the specific kit to be carried will be confirmed on the day based on conditions.

The race starts at the Raheendonore Carpark on the L4209 between Graignamanagh and Inistioge. An early start is available for those anticipating a finish time over 3.5 hours.
