Event overview
The Brandon Hill Half (Kilkenny) is scheduled for Sunday 5 July 2026. The event is listed as part of the Leinster Half-Marathon League. The course distance is 21.27 km with a total climb of 906 m. The event difficulty is rated 9 (3,3,3) and the route is fully marked. GPS use is not allowed.
Course and logistics
The route includes two summits of Brandon Hill, approached from opposite sides. The first summit occurs early in the race and is followed by a fast descent. The final summit is the last climb and is followed by a downhill section of about 3 km. Between the summit efforts there is rolling trail and a new forestry climb, located roughly halfway through the race, which reaches a reported 30% incline and involves about 15 minutes of steep uphill. Signs will mark the start and end of several popular Strava segments.
The race assembly is at Raheendonore Carpark on the L4209 between Graignamanagh and Inistioge. Parking is limited and organisers ask participants to follow marshal guidance on arrival. Prizegiving will take place at the finish line.
