Torrance Memorial Medical Center BRA Run - Los Angeles
The BRA Run is an annual athletic event held at Dockweiler Beach in Playa Del Rey, California. Now in its 14th year, the event takes place on a fully paved course situated next to the sand. The primary objective of the gathering is to support breast cancer reconstruction awareness and raise funds for Evelyn’s BFF, a non-profit organization that assists survivors with expenses not covered by insurance, such as counseling and medical bills.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of events including running, cycling, and multisport options:
- 13K run on a paved course with a two hour time limit.
- 5K run or walk.
- Kids 1K for younger participants.
- 14 Mile Bike Ride which is an untimed fun ride featuring a halfway aid station.
- Bike + 13K Run duathlon combination.
- Bike + 5K Run duathlon combination.
- Virtual 5K and 13K options for those participating from different locations.
The event includes a vendor booth area and a costume contest. For the bike ride, participants may use any type of bicycle, including beach cruisers or time trial bikes. The 13K course requires runners to maintain a minimum pace of 15 minutes per mile. Parking is available in local lots for a fee.
