BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run
This event takes place in Wakefield, within the Municipality of La Pêche, and crosses the historic covered bridge. It offers road and trail courses through Gatineau Park. Several distances are available: 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km. The 21.1 km trail race is limited to 250 participants and is open to those aged 10 and older.
The start and finish are at the Vorlage Centre (65 Burnside Road). Free overnight parking is available on site for Saturday night. The centre provides indoor washrooms and unsupervised lockers. Water will be available at the finish line and on the course (five aid stations). A snack is provided at the finish.
The event includes a festive weekend program with activities at the Wakefield Community Centre on Saturday: bib pickup, a market, a sports nutrition conference, and a taping workshop. On Saturday evening at the Vorlage Centre, free activities are offered for registered participants: storytelling by a fire, an astronomy/astrology workshop, and a food truck. A Thanksgiving brunch is also offered on Sunday for an additional ticket fee.
Registration includes a personalized bib, a finisher's prize (baseball cap, beanie, bandana, or keychain), and electronic timing. Online registration closes on the Thursday before the event.
