BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run
The BougeBouge Wakefield Covered Bridge Run is a mixed road and trail event held in Wakefield, in the Municipality of La Pêche, with courses that showcase the Wakefield covered bridge and sections of Gatineau Park. The event date is 11 October 2026 and the central site is Centre Vorlage.
Distances on offer include:
- 3 km road run/walk crossing the covered bridge.
- 5 km road run/walk along the Gatineau River with a turnaround.
- 10 km road run combining paved and gravel surfaces, with river views and a hill loop.
- 21.1 km trail route across Gatineau Park to Philippe Lake, limited to 250 participants and open to ages 10 and older.
Trail descriptions note varied terrain: hills, flat sections, forests, plains, and an initial ascent on a Vorlage ski trail for the trail races. The 10 km road course is about one third paved and two thirds gravel. No dogs are allowed on the trail half marathon.
Race services and logistics include timing by SPORTSTATS.CA, a finish-line clock, five water stations on course (some self-serve), indoor washrooms at the Vorlage Centre, unsupervised lockers, and medals for finishers with personalized medals available when added during online registration. Overnight paid parking and camping on site are available without hookups or shower facilities. A Thanksgiving-style buffet and food truck service are offered at the race site.
