Event Overview
The Bóthar na Naomh Adventure Races, also referred to as the Cloone Adventure Race & Duathlon, takes place in Cloone, County Leitrim. First launched in 2013, the event features multiple race formats that utilize the Bóthar na Naomh trails and local public roads. Registration is based at the Cloone Community Centre.
Race Formats
The event offers three distinct distances and disciplines:
- Main Adventure Duathlon: Includes a 2.5 km trail run, a 20 km road cycle, and a 5 km trail run.
- Adult Adventure Race: A 5 km course for participants aged 16 and over involving trail running, obstacles, and kayaking.
- U16 Adventure Race: A 5 km course for ages 7 to 16 featuring trail running, obstacles, and kayaking.
Participant Information
The Main Adventure Duathlon is restricted to participants aged 18 and older. For the U16 Adventure Race, the minimum age of entry is 7 years old, and parental or guardian consent is required for all participants under 16. While parents may participate alongside their children in the U16 event, it is not a requirement.
Registration is available both online and on the day of the event, subject to availability. The first 100 adult online registrants for either the main duathlon or the adult 5km adventure race receive a complimentary event T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
