Heatwave Half Marathon - Ann Arbor
The Heatwave event takes place at Veteran Park in Chelsea, Michigan on July 12, 2026. It comprises several in-person races plus a virtual race option and additional participation formats.
Distances and event formats:
- Kids Dash : 50 m, for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile : untimed fun run
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon : 13.1 Miles
- Half Marathon Relay : 13.1 Miles per team
- Running Buddy Half Marathon : requires prior approval
- Volunteer Then Run : volunteer then run any distance
- Virtual Race : run any day at any location
Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K registrations include a custom bib, designer shirt, and a finisher medal. The 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon use chip timing with live results and awards. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed; the Kids Dash includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a special medal. Relay team members must register individually and teams can be any size.
The virtual option includes a digital bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and packet shipping; mailed packets ship the Wednesday after the event. The event provides free photos and free ice cream at the finish. Youth pricing of $17 applies for ages 12 and under for certain races.
